Welcome to the world....

Isn't she so new you can smell her?
Meet my beautiful niece Poppy Louise Jackson!
These pictures are not in any great order but I will explain the best I can.
Poppy was snuggled up to mommy while the nurse was listening to her. She found the nurses knuckle, I guess her rooting instinct was working:)
My beautiful sister Brooke invited me to come in the labor and delivery room to take pictures of her daughters birth. Brooke's water broke at 12:30 pm on Sunday and she was pushing by 2:20pm. I would like to tell you that I am not insanely jealous but I am!!! What an awesome delivery. Not to mention she looked GREAT! She didnt' even break a sweat.

Our mom and sisters were invited to be in the room while Poppy's mom and dad welcomed her into the world. I can tell you that their was not a dry eye among us. It was totally amazing. Kennan was audibly gasping and sobbing while Paige watched in amazement....I don't think she can hold off long to have her first after that. My mom cried as she watched her 5th child and 3rd daughter give birth to her 12th grand baby. As for the pictures I took, they may be a bit blurry because I couldn't see through my tears.

We keep telling Paige that women in our family are not usually like Brooke, no stretch marks, water breaking, and fast delivery's......so don't plan on it.

Here is Poppy one day old......I know the picture is out of place but what can I do?

One of the most emotional moments during the day was when Dustin's parents brought Minie into see her mom and new sister. This was Brooke's reaction at seeing the big sister.

I'll tell you what, these girls are lucky to have these fantastic parents. Oh, and could these two baby girls look any more different?

Poppy looking at daddy for the first time.

Poppy's stats are:
weight: 7lbs. 6oz.
height: 19 1/2 inches long

First bath....This is where I feel cheated. I have four beautiful children but never once did they bath the baby in my room so I could watch. Brooke got to watch everything, and Poppy never left her sight. They also play Brahms Lullaby over the loud speaker while they walk the baby and mom to their hospital room. How cute is that?

She didn't like the bath but she loved getting her hair washed!

Bathed, dressed, warmed and sleeping.....Oh, I love her so much already! It might make me a bit baby hungry myself.....

First family photo.
Thank you Brooke and Dustin for this amazing experience. I have birthed four children but never have I really gotten to see a birth....seeing that I am always doing the work. It was so touching and it will stay with me forever. Poppy will always have a special place in my heart. Brooke you are beautiful, and I was so proud of you. You are an amazing mother and I admire you in so many ways....photography just being one of them:) I hope you enjoy the pictures....I have a whole CD full of them. Love your little family!

stunning. I feel like I am intruding on a really special and private moment...which I think is the mark of a fantastic photographer...one taking pictures with both her heart and her lens. These are priceless. Congratulations Brooke. Poppy is beautiful.

Umm...your pictures are amazing & your sister is beautiful - she just gave birth & looks like that? Yeah right!! Yea - Gwen informed me that her name would be Puppy - I was a little confused but now it makes sense. Let's get together & go get cute material for our aprons.

I think my favorite picture is of your sister in tears-- really, that one is pretty amazing. She is going to look back at that picture and forever remember that exact moment because of it. Thanks for sharing-- I just saw moments of the whole birth experience (baby right after birth, the bathing) that I have never seen with any of my girls.

I have seen my sister give birth to 3 of her four, and I feel the same way about it. It is the most beautiful thing you could ever witness.
The pictures are absolutly georgeous, you did a fantastic job. I wish I could have someone come in the O.R. with me and take pictures, but they might not be so pretty.
Thanks for sharing, it makes me just that much more excited to have another one.

Hey Robyn,
I peeked in on your blog tonight after hearing about your great weekend today at the park. Hope you don't mind! Those pics are priceless!! What an amazing experience to have been a part of. Poppy is absolutely beautiful. I agree with Sarah about the picture of your sister crying when "big sis" was coming in the room. That has to be my favorite of the bunch. Awesome job on your pictures! You really captured those special moments and I'm sure your sister and Poppy will be forever grateful.

I remember every moment of those pictures so clearly... it was such an incredible experience... and yes it did make me baby hungry in a whole new way! Do you think Brooke could teach me to have babies like her... you and Kennan kind of suck at it and I'd much rather go Brooke's route. You did a fabulous job and it was so nice to spend time with you this weekend! Love ya sista!
