At 4 weeks old....

You weigh 8 lbs. 14 oz.
you are 21.75 inches tall
your head is 14 inches round.
You have a herniated belly button.

_MG_9423

You have the cutest dimple in your chin.
You held on to your umbilical cord until you were 21 days old.
You are a great nurser.
You love to be wrapped up tight.
(Abe calls you his "little chimichanga")
Your eyes are working great.
You follow people and voices with your head and eyes.
You always turn to your mama's voice.
You can be in an all out crying fit, and the minute mama picks you up you stop.
You love your Binky.
You make a noise that sounds just like dolphin call.
(It makes your brothers and sister laugh)
You hold your head up really well.
You have rolled from your stomach to your back at least five times.
You had an eye infection or clogged tear duct.
You let your very LOVING sister love you up.
(saint hood in my book)
You like your mama.
Places you've been:
Target
Costco
Walks around the neighborhood
You have been to 4 movies (and slept through them like a champ.)
You have been to 2 swim meets, and
3 very LONG All Star Baseball games, and
many dance classes.
You have already spent countless hours in the car.
You have visited Nannie in Highland, Great Grandma JB in SLC, and Grandy in Lindon.
You have ridden on the back of a tow truck.
We have taken a lovely trip up to Pine Valley and hiked a bit.
Oh the adventures we will have with you!

Gilbert & Sullivan

It has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

_MG_9407

To say that Sully has a serious fan club would be an understatement.
So when one of the kids can get him to themselves it's like Christmas.
Especially Gil.
Gil was telling him that he was going to be his best friend.
He also told him he can follow him around when he gets older.

I also got it on video.

Yep, I will hold him to it.

_MG_9406

He was also telling him "I am your big brother" over and over and over.
It was Gil who told us (before we knew Sully was a boy) that he was going to have a brother.

He just knew he said.

Two wheels

Last week Bob and Tucker were at All Star practice and the kids were outside playing.
I took Sully out with me to sit and watch the kids.
Gil kept begging me to take his training wheels off.
I told him we would have to wait until daddy got home.
It was starting to get dark when Bob and Tuck pulled up.
That was not going to deter Gil from his wants.

_MG_9318-1

Next thing I know Bob had taken off his training wheels and Gil was just going.
Truly!
He just took off.
Bob held the back of his seat when he got on and then he just started pedaling.
It took him 3 minutes to figure out how to start himself off.
He couldn't wait to try it again the next morning.
_MG_9312-1

Now he is part of the neighborhood bike crowd.

(Although he did start riding a two wheeler before most of his friends that are a couple of years older than him.)

He is already asking for a new bigger bike that's blue.

_MG_9330

Bob thinks he looks like a clown on his tiny bike and how fast he pedals to keep up with the big kids.
Mostly I think he just is a CLOWN!

_MG_9332

Lady was not to be shown up.
There was no way Gil was going to ride his bike before her.
So after Gil took off she had Daddy take her training wheels off too.
She got going pretty shaky while she whimpered through the pedaling.
But she did learn that night as well, maybe not as gracefully though.
There was no way she was going to be shown up by her little brother who is 15 months younger.

It has been so fun to see how much more they ride their bikes now that their training wheels are gone. They have had a lot more crashes too:)

*helmets are being worn more too I promise.

Snow Canyon Warriors All Star Baseball

Tucker had a great Baseball season this year.
Bob coached his White Sox team this year and they had the best team this season.
I think and have been told by many parents that Bob is a fantastic coach.
Tucker L.O.V.E.S having him coach.
So when it came time to choose boys for the All Star team Tuck was one of the first pick.
Bob was the Assistant coach for the team.

They practiced quite a bit for a few weeks and then this last week we went to Cedar City for the big tournament.
I did a horrible job of documenting it.
My mom and Granny drove down for the fist game on Monday.
(this was not a short drive 6 hrs in total)
Nannie held Sully the whole time so I took a few pictures.
I did miss taking pictures of him pitching, I was intent on watching him and totally forgot.
I thought I can get more the next couple of days. What? I forgot I had a newborn in my arms without my mom there.
So here's what I got.
They lost the first, and won the second, but got slaughtered the third game.

Tuck never takes those things well.
He takes things to heart.

_MG_9386

He had some beautiful hits, and he pitched really well.
He did really well this week despite there losses.
It was fun to watch him play.
Fun to watch Bob coach.
I am so glad I am married to that kind of dad.
It was also really nice to get out of our scorching hot weather this week and be in a little cooler weather.
We even got rain that first day.
I will admit that it was a little difficult with a newborn but how can you miss your oldest son's All Star Baseball?
Just imagine me holding Sully in one arm a huge umbrella in the other hand trying to hold it down with the wind gusting like it does in Cedar. The kids needing bathroom runs, (thank you Abe for your help there) money for treats, and Gil and Gwyn finding a mud puddle to play in.
We were a sight to behold.
Thanks to the kind people next to me who kept helping with the umbrella.

So this is love...

This little girl is in heaven....
I won't lie, sometimes her love for him is a little TOO much.
Kind of like the other day when she walked out carrying him from his Moses Basket.
I may have freaked a bit.
She loves to hold him on her chest, and give him his binki.

I do think it's sweet most of the time.

Due Date...

Today mister Sully was due.
I am dying to post pictures of my sweet little peach,(because that is how he looks, fuzzy and peach colored, hair and all.) but I need my computer first.
So tonight it is the ramblings of new/gently used mother.
I have so much to say.
The last few days little Sully has had his eyes open longer than usual, he is beginning to wake up.
I noticed yesterday the little ridge on his head gone, his head is growing.
He is 2 weeks old today.
My heart breaks and soars at these changes.
I don't blog, or do much but hold and watch this sweet boy. I don't want to miss a moment of him. I want my brain and my body to record every square inch of him. It's like a first love all over again. I want him in my arms as much as possible. Perhaps because he is most likely my last baby or that looking at my soon to be 11 year old that I feel that this time is so very short. So magical. I haven't been sharing him. For those who feel guilt for not seeing him yet, don't. I really have been keeping him to myself.
I asked Gwyn the other day if she could imagine wanting Sully to be a sister. She answered very honestly "no".
He was always meant to be with us.
He cries only if he is hungry. He nurses like a champ. He wiggles for other people then settles in so nice when he is given back to me. He knows me. He likes daddy too.
I am working on his birth story and pictures so look for those. I just needed to post a little something that explains my elusiveness/hermit ways.
I am just in baby Heaven over here and trying to soak up every minute.
My mom was ever so kind and cared for me the first week and then took the 3 middle kids home with her. She is so busy, so I know that this is was hard for her. But the time she allowed me will never be forgotten or under appreciated. She kept telling me she just wanted to give me time to enjoy him, so I truly took that to heart. Thank you Mom. There was never a better woman alive. Sully is such a part of my heart now that I can't imagine life with out him.
This week I will be MOM again....wish me luck!!!
p.s.
happy 4th of July
