Preschool....

Of all of my children Gil somehow seems really old to just now be starting pre-school.
All the same he finally started.
He was thrilled to go to Miss Debbie's.

_MG_9869

This boy is one social butterfly.

_MG_9865

Gwynnie and Gil are gone at the same time for 2 days a week.
Well at least for an hour that is....

_MG_9860

Gil was glad to be going to school with his buddy Grant D.
They were friends in Utero:)

_MG_9880

Here is my big boy sitting on the rug waiting for a class to begin.

_MG_9895

I like him.

Vote

Abe told me last year that once he was in 4th grade he would be running for Student Council.
So when he brought home is papers already signed by a couple of teachers and wrote his reasons why he would be good for Student Council I had to get on board.
I seriously don't know why my two older boys are such over achievers.
Truly I don't.
I never did any of the things that they want to do.
I honestly don't push them either.
I won't lie that it is really hard to encourage your child to do something that you have no control over the outcome.
I had to keep asking Abe if you would be okay if he didn't win for his class.
He kept telling me he would win, and it was all fine.
They could make one poster and they had to give a speech.
Here are a few of the pictures that I took.

_MG_9900

This is Abe.

_MG_9902

But this....this is REALLY Abe's personality.
He is funny and witty and can sometimes be a little annoying.
(What 9 year old isn't sometimes?)

_MG_9913
With a name like ABRAHAM....you have to use the honest aspect:)
We heard it worked for this other amazing Abraham.
So election day came.
I went to the school to hear his speech.
There were 5 girls and 3 boys running.
There would be 2 people from his class that would join student council.
He did great on his speech, his poster was the best. (Thanks Andrea!)
I was nervous all day for him.
When he came home from school I met him outside and kept asking if he won....he said "wait until we are inside mom" Then as soon as we got in the house he smugly told me, "yeah I won". Bob came around the corner and yelled "you won" then grabbed him up in bear hug and Tucker and I joined in and we smooshed him until he was yelling, "I can't breathe."
It's pretty cool when they win.

This AMAZING boy is 4

_MG_0129

Four AMAZING things about Gil!

1. He embodies happiness....everyone likes Gil, he is the neighborhood Mascot after all.

2. He has crazy coordination.

3. He is so great with his new baby brother. He has a lot of love to offer all of his family. I get told he loves me 20 times a day.

4. He is still here. He is our miracle boy, we feel so lucky and blessed to have him with us everyday. (Although that big noggin seems to get wonked more than anything else on him.)

*5. And one to grow on....he has the biggest, most luscious, kissable lips ever!

Happy Birthday little man!
We love you Gilbert.

red day...

On Gwyn's real first day of school, it was red day.
Her teacher asked them all to wear something red...anything red, shoes, shirt, earrings, socks...you get the picture.
So Gwyn and I found every little thing we could think of for her to wear that was red.
A girl is so much fun.

_MG_9824

Her request for her hair was to be in Jessica's heart hair-do....because of course hearts are red.
_MG_9819

Red Boots...

_MG_9821

Red lady bug earrings, red braclet, red bows and of course...
Red finger nail polish...
(This lovely pose was inspired by Andrea who so kindly painted her nails for her really quick because I am terrible at painting nails.)
Andrea loves to feed Gwyn's vainness if you will, and while she paints Gwyn's nails she says to her, "Gwyn, have you thought about how you are going to pose for the pictures your mom's going to take of you?" Gwyn responds, "no I haven't" and then Andrea suggested this pose.

_MG_9818

_MG_9830

I watched my little girl stand at the door while the teacher explained the routine to the kids. I thought that I was fine with her going to school until all the kids walked in with their arms folded and silent, my little girl turned and yelled, "love you mom" and then blew me a kiss.

By the time I made it home there were many tears shed.

I can't believe my buddy has started school.....

Sully's Birth and Father's Day

This pregnancy with Sully was a bit of a challenge.
I think that for the most part I was just "pregnant" perhaps not thinking about the baby part of the equation I was just so busy.
About a week before I was due Bob took all the kids up to Brianhead to meet up with his family before his Grandmothers funeral.
I stayed home that evening all alone and enjoyed every moment of it.
It was the first time I really had a moment to think about this little sweet pea in my womb.
I began thinking about his looks, his name, his tempermant and all that he would be.
I started thinking about holding him and all of the snuggling.
I got really excited about his arrival.
I knew I was going to be induced in about a week if things didn't happen on their own.
His flipping around in my womb was a concern.

DSC_0006

The Friday of my last appointment I felt really off.
Almost sick.
The Dr. checked me, I was dialated to a 2, and 65% effaced.
He stripped my membranes.
I had the worst back ache ever.
All day I kept thinking, "this is happening".
That night My Dr.'s nurse called to check on me, she said that both she and Doctor did not think I was going to make it until Monday.
I told her I felt terrible, she said get some good contractions going and go to the hospital....
Sure enough my contractions started.
Bob was ready.
I called my Mom and sisters and told them that they should probably come.
Brooke was the designated photographer for my delivery.
They were in the car and on the way within an hour.
By the time they got here everything had stopped.
I felt bad I rushed them down.
I went to bed feeling yucky and woke up in the morning feeling disappointed that nothing had happened during the night.
Kennan was stressing about getting home for father's day....and then I started fretting about it too.
I still felt terrible.
My mom and sisters took my kids and went swimming so Bob and I could rest.
I slept hard and I felt so much better when I woke up.
My dad called and we talked.
He told me to quit worrying and to relax.
The baby would come when it was time and not to worry, my mom was here until the baby came.
I also had a conversation with my Aunt Sandi and she said somethings that softened my heart.
(that's a conversation I will keep to myself, a little to precious for this forum)
That night us ladies went a walkin'.
(that was fun)
We talked a lot and when I got home and to bed I was in much better spirits.....
For about 30 minutes until my contractions started in every 3 minutes.
It was about 1 am and I started pacing, and I took a bath, I tried to sleep.
I woke Bob up at about 3:30, and asked him how he felt about getting a baby boy for father's day.
I finished packing my bags, called the hospital and headed down there.
I got there at 4am and I of course get the older nurse who was very business.
She wouldn't call my Doctor until she had monitered me for 2 hours.
I knew that not a lot would happen until they broke my water, this was after all my 5th baby, so I waited.
I kept telling her that he was not going to send me home....
I was going to be induced the next day.
Sure enough at 6 am she called Dr. Ott and he said admit her and he would be there by 7am.
At 6:55am the Doc walked in pushing a ultra sound machine.
He said "Let's find out where this little guys hanging out"
Thank goodness he was in the right position.
He started up the pitocin and told me after I got all my antibiotics (4 hours) he would be back to break my water.
At that point I called home and let my mom know and then at 9am I called my sisters.

DSC_0035

I got my epidural right before he broke my water...
At that point I was at a 5 and 80% effaced.
Now all along they told me that I had a lot of Amniotic fluid, so when they broke my water it was no surprise I had a lot.
But when she came back 1 hour later and checked me and I had not progressed she wondered about my fluid.
She slightly moved his head in utero and a HUGE gush of water came out.
She laughed and said "no wonder he isn't coming down."
At this point my sisters and mom have gotten here....
Jen was watching my kids.
We are all laughing and talking when the nurse comes back in.
( She was an AWESOME nurse.)
She checks me again and still not a lot of change, she decides she will move his head one more time to the other side.
Another HUGE gush of water.
She looked at me and said that I had so much amniotic fluid.
No wonder he was flipping....he had his own personal pool.
She left and it is about 1:45 pm.
My mom and Brooke are Chocolate freaks so they send him down to the cafeteria to get some chocolate.
Within about 15 minutes I am feeling pressure.
I tell Brooke she might need to go find Bob.
I tell my mom to call Jen and tell her to come on down with the kids.
Brooke jumps up and heads out the hall and the nurse asks her if everything is okay and she tells her I want my husband because I feel like it might be time.
The nurse hurries in to check me and sure enough I am ready to push.
DSC_0048

Bob makes it back and they start prepping the room.
I start to get nervous because I recoginze some of the NICU nurses.
Because I had gestational diabetes the baby has more health risks.
Within minutes Dr. Ott is there and I am asking them how long I can wait because I really want my kids there outside the door.
He says we can wait.
I love epidurals.
We waited for 20 minutes and just as the Doc starts to tell me we can't wait anymore, I hear my kids voices.
I get ready to push with Bob holding one leg and the nurse holding the other.
3 pushes later and a waterfall of more amniotic fluid (that splashed my husband pretty good.) and he was here....2:47pm
Dr. Ott asked "what's his name?"
I said "We don't know!"

Waxiest baby EVER.

This picture melts me....Gwynnie about to cry over hearing her baby brothers first cries.
Tucker looking so happy.

DSC_0077

They told me 7.2 but it looks more like 7.1!

DSC_0081

I held him for a few minutes and then they took him away...
They were worried about his breathing.
I started seeing Gil's RDS all over again.
I did not want to have to have another NICU baby.

DSC_0094

I was so worried.
People kept asking me what were going to name him.
Kennan kept asking who she should text....
All I cared about was him.
Was he going to be okay?
My love for him was huge already.
DSC_0098

They thought that his Glucose level could be low so they were going to let me feed him.
But they gave permission for daddy to hold him first and let his brothers and sister see him.

DSC_0101

Daddy holding him for the first time.

DSC_0105

And then they handed him back to me and it was LOVE.
He calmed down, and his breathing settled.
He knew he was back with me.
I can't believe I ever wanted him to be a girl.
I can't believe I ever thought I could go without him in our lives.
I forgot how much I love my babies.
He was ours.
He was mine.

DSC_0110

Heaven......just ask Gil, that's what he smells like.

DSC_0111

It was time for the siblings to meet.

DSC_0134

This was the first time we have ever had anyone besides medical staff in the room with us.
As much as I loved having my mom and sisters there...
(hello, I love these pictures Brooke took.)
It was hard not having it be just us.
Bob was a saint as the Williams women took over his very precious job.
He is always my best support.
I was glad to have a moment with just the three of us.

Getting to know Sully.....

DSC_0290

We didn't name him until everyone left and Bob and I could have a few moments alone.

That took place that evening. We had a few names we liked. We liked Oscar, Boden, Sullivan, and Heath. If he had dark hair I knew for sure it would be Oscar.

But he came out fair with blond almost redish hair. Abe loved the name Boden, and when he looked at him he said, "well, he's not a Boden."

I thought Sullivan immediatley after seeing him . Once Bob and I were alone he agreed with me.

Sully.

Born on Father's day.

12 years

12 years and 5 kids later.....

I am still crazy about you!
Thanks for making my life so happy.
I love you.

Back to School

This year I have 3 of my children at the elementary school.
It will be the only time that I will have that many at one school.
I can't believe I have a 5th grader!

_MG_9780

This is the sign in front of their school.
Gil was included because he thinks he Abe's age.

_MG_9777

_MG_9787

Getting all 5 of them ready before 9 am was a miracle.
Thank goodness Bob stayed home and made a lovely breakfast and bathed the baby while I got everyone else ready.
That being said, we barely made it in time.
My boys were thoroughly embarrassed because they were the last one to get to class and then I took pictures of them while sitting at their desks.
Abe seemed to be okay with it...
His teacher is Mrs. Belliston, she's great, Tucker had her last year.

IMG_9788

Tucker on the other hand wanted to curl up in a ball and die because I was taking pictures while his teacher was talking to them.
Good thing his teacher Mrs. Simkins is AWESOME.
Guess what?
I don't care he was so embarrassed.
This is the LAST time I can do this.
Next year he will have 7 classes :(

IMG_9791

Gwyn only went to 1 hour of class that day.
She got to meet her teacher and some of her class.
She will start on the 18th for real.
She sure looked cute though.
Her teacher made a big deal out of her bracelet....Gwyn was tickled by that.

_MG_9795

Here we go again......another year of school.

Coming Home...

A few weeks after the baby was born I really had a need to go home.
Not for just a few days but for at least a week.
I needed some of my mom's mothering and my dad's craziness.
I needed my sisters and their laughing ways.
I needed the big brother who I hung out with my jr and sr high school years.
I needed the neices and nephews around me and my kids.
I just needed home.
What I didn't realize was how much I needed the friends from my home.
I was lucky enough to get to spend some really great quaility time with my best friends from my youth.
Ally and I keep in touch on a VERY regular basis.
Steph not as much, (but that is going to change.) but a least a handful of times a year and Annie only about once or twice a year.
Steph's kids match up pretty well with mine so we had a couple of play days.
They played like they see eachother everyday.
Between Steph, Ally and I we have 121/2 kids.
I consider myself so lucky to have gotten to be raised with these amazing women.
Spending time with them was definetly like coming home.
I hope my kids have friends as great as mine.

This is Steph, Myself and Ally during an evening of Young Womens.
This is now the site where the Mt. Timpanogos Temple sits....

Girls camp....Steph putting flowers in my hair.
She was always a wiz at french braiding.

Annie's cabin we have spent oh so many nights there. It's been at least ten years since I have been there.

Steph whipped up an amazing dinner...

Ally is pregnant with her 4th baby.
~I like to call her soon to be baby "Mary".
That's not really her baby's name but I think it should be.~

IMG_9722

Anne Marie....Listening to her life is amazing.

IMG_9724

Cute Ally just lovin' on my Sully.

IMG_9725-1

Thanks ladies for such a fun week.
